Lights go up in London

LIGHTS GO UP IN LONDON

Pick a film title from one of the following - 'A Bridge to Far' or 'Bad Day at Black Rock', either one would have fitted the Anvil performance today, after being second best thro out against Step 6 AC London, whose pace thro out made the Anvils look almost pedestrian at times.

London went ahead on 07mins thro class act Ed Morias playing right midfield whom received a pass and virtually from the bye line crashed the ball home from the tightest of angles, Anvils give them their due fought back and restored parity themselves on 17 thro Leslie who was able to slip the 'leash' 1-1, the half then ending in torretial rain allied to thunder and lightning, plus ultra gale force winds that had the Anvils video man seated on top of the stand beat a hasty retreat onto terra firma.

Second half with the blinding sun now on Londons backs and the pitch 'cutting up' play became a bit scrappy, but London were not to be denied, and on the hour mark took the lead again thro dangerman Morais who picking up a diagonal ball set off down the flank before cutting inside evading many pairs of Anvil legs before cheekily back heeling into the net ( were you watching Neymar ).

Anvils had chances thro Kieran Greig and Michael Belli but overall were on the backfoot, come 74 and London went further in front, when from a poor Anvil pass the ball was intercepted by Said Khan who pushed forward and squared the ball to Kieron Dowding to apply the 'coup de grace' at 3-1.

Bench changes alround with the Anvils ushering on at last, deadly goalscorer Nick Sullivan whose added pace showed what the Anvils had been lacking thro out, Sullivan himself converting a late penalty, to give the scoreline the appearence of a close fought game, tho numbers can be misleading!
