RUR Charity Cup - Third Round
CDG ( 1 ) 5 Eastbourne UA ( 1 ) 1
( Leslie 4, 83. Manton 49, N. Sullivan 74, Belli 88.) ( O'Callaghan 24.)

A tale of two cities, not really, more a tale of two halves, as the Anvils recorded their second 'nap hand' of goals in consecutive matches, and make progress in another cup, this time the RUR, a cup that still rankles with Anvil players and support after last years outcome, but as they say 'its all water etc etc'.

Todays encounter was as stated two halves of Storm Brian conditions thro out, EUA having the benefit of Brian in the first 45, scoring just once, after going behind after just 4 minutes thro Oli Leslie, with the exception of the first and last 10 mins, the Anvils had to battle against a Storm Brian assisted EUA, so to go in all square at halftime was not so bad for all things Anvil.

Kicking toward the Kop End with Brians backing would turn out to be another 'groundhog day' for the second match running in which they should and did 'sate' their fill, credit to EUA after holding the Anvils in the first half battled gamely in the second, but against the Brian inspired Anvils, it would prove to be, using a film title 'A Bridge to Far'. FT 5-1 Anvils
