ANVILS FEEL THE LASH
In keeping with the clocks going back, the Anvils would appear to have followed suit in taking a similar backward step, as today they succumbed to their second defeat running, last week it was against experienced players whom had previously dined at the 'top table', today it was about the more youthful approach, some of whom in the future may well dine at the same table.
On a somewhat yielding surface ( same for both sides ) the Anvils seemed to suffer most, as perhaps the more pacy of players were somewhat negated by the conditions, resulting in the ball spending most time in the air, as against the 'green sward' below, whilst EP seemed to be more at home.
'Seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness' as Keats once quoted, could well take a backseat for the Anvils as the next two fixtures feature two of the juggernauts of the league, namely Three Bridges and Peacehaven, where one would imagine ' that prisoners would be at a premium'!
Final note - Congrats to EP's Dan Huet who made his 100'th appearance for the club ( luckily for us he didn't score) plus another loud three figure crowd.
