LINGERS to hot for COMMON

LINGERS TO HOT FOR COMMON

4th placed and 9 points behind, Lingfield today made a mockery of the league table when handing out a 'mother of all hidings' to the current league leaders Little Common at a vibrant Godstone Road.

With the Lingers roaring to a two goal lead at HT after having kicked down the slope, one wondered whether the leaders might take a similar route in the Second.

But if the truth be known, it just never materialised as the Lingers kept the Common by the throat, with further goals from leading scorer Wetton, with himself and Dembele notching a couple in the 83rd and 84th bringing up the half dozen, then had the 'natives' now suitably imbibed, belting that well known mantra of 'easy, easy', and for once one could not disagree, as the so called feared Commons strikers Hole, Tate and Crone never had a 'sniff' all afternoon, as the Lingers strike force plus a tight defence, could well have doubled the score, so rampant were the Lingers.

Shock waves must have been felt on the South Coast as news got thro that these Northerners had somehow tore up the script, and rewrote the League Table!
