Sussex Senior Cup - Round 2
THREE BRIDGES ( 0 ) 2 CDG ( 1 ) 1
( Grant 65, Crabb 90.) ( Leslie 08.)

What makes a side with a one goal lead, facing a side who have just had a player sent off, plus just a half hour on the clock remaining, suddenly collapse, lose the plot, plus many other descriptions, then concede two goals, to literally snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

That was the scenario at the Jubilee Field as the Anvils snatched an early lead, then withstood a fierce examination of their credentials from the Bridges, and had it not been for the brilliance of keeper Seb Bos would surely finished up in the 'red' at HT.

Come the second half and a clash between Bos and Bridges Campbell led to the latter seeking an early bath, with an extra man and half hour to go, the odds must surely have narrowed on the Anvils entering the next round, but 'injured animals' can sometimes find hidden strength, which in this case actually happened, and in spite of many Anvil chances ( Glloga striking the upright on the hour ) it was the homesters who then turned the game 'on its head' with goals from Grant on 65, and then Crabb bringing the 'house down' with the winner on 90.

Any consolation for the Anvils who played well for the first hour, was the perfomance of keeper Bos who was outstanding thro out, bringing the crowd to their feet on 80, with a flying save to keep out a French special, that even had the Bridges dugout applauding.

Gate :- 78 Anvils MOM : Seb Bos.
