Caution

Postby fanbase » Sat Apr 01 2017, 19:48

I am hoping that one of the referees on this forum can answer this question from a game that I attended today. A player lobs the goalie from the corner of the penalty area. He is mobbed by his team mates in the position where he struck the ball. He did not leave the pitch and he did not remove his shirt yet when the celebrations subsided he was cautioned. Can anyone offer an explanation as to why he might be cautioned?

Difficult to say when not there but there appears no apparent reason. However, it is quite possible that the ref might have seen a gesture or heard something that was unsporting and issued the caution. On the other hand he may have used a bit of nouce as I would imagine a lot of exuberant language may have been flying about during the celebration.
