personally: When you have 3 defenders and 3 attackers in the box all 'tugging' each others shirt who do you pick to penalise?

The first one you see?

This is one thing i have never understood about the game now. If it happened anywhere else on the pitch its a free kick everytime, in the penatly area its accepted as part of the game. If all refs starting giving penaltys or free kicks it would soon stop!

I agree....but you and I aren't refs.

Let's face it, refs (and managers) just want a 'day out' with free admission and as little hassle as possible.

However, it's rather scary that in the higher divisions (e.g the Premier League) refs and managers actually get paid 'loadsamoney'....and it matters little if they get things right or wrong.

If they (the managers) get sacked they just receive a compensation cheque for being useless and then go and manage A N Other club (e.g. Northampton/Ade Boothroyd)

Granted that the refs may drop down a division or two as punishment, but afaic a ref at SCL level is every bit as good/bad as one in the Premier League (as seen on MOTD TV)

NB: Same goes for managers in the SCL/Premier League.

I reckon there should be a 'manager swop' e.g. Sir Alex Ferguson manages Chichester City for a few games whilst Adie Girdler manages Man Utd.

Perhaps Jim can Fix it?[/quote

is there any reason why you feel the need to mention sir alex ferguson non stop ?.
