So a player cuts down another player and it's clearly at least a yellow or perhaps a straight red. In either event it's his second yellow so will be off.

But the ref - who is trying his best to play the advantage - let's the phase of play continue. The play moves into the next phase and the player who will receive his second yellow or straight red scores.

So I know the ref is going to award the goal then deal with the card issue but there's something wrong there agree?

By the way, it's hypothetical.

Unless a goal could be scored within a few seconds of playing the advantage, then the ref should stop the game and deal with the 2nd yellow / straight red otherwise it can give you all sorts of grief

Surely then though after he goes on report he receives a ban in the usual manner mate? I know that you as a ref wouldn't decide that,but as a general rule yeah? I don't mean 'rule' as in 'Law', I never know which it is anyway lol.

as a ref we can't stop a physio coming on to treat a player during a game that could lead to all sorts of problems for the ref !!

if the said physio is banned later by the FA then its down to the club to find a replacement

Mmm. At a game I was at the other day, not necessarily a Ringmer game I hasten to add, - I watch a lot of football as you know - the ref pretty obviously didn't know this one when he sent the physio to the other side of this particular dug out after he went off his nut about some poxy decision that didn't matter at all other in this fellas peanut brain. Tricky one tho, felt a bit sorry for the ref who was having the assessment done.
