England v Ecuador

Postby Dean Bradford » Sun Jun 25 2006, 09:27

Well Sven seems to have baffled everyone (including all of us who have not mentioned the side he appears to be playing today!!

--------------------------------Robinson------------------------------------
Hargreaves------Ferdinand------------Terry---------------------A Cole--
Beckham---------Gerrard-----Carrick---------Lampard----------J Cole-
------------------------------Rooney-----------------------------------------

My biggest concern by far this afternoon is the HEAT. I know it will be 5pm in Germany but it is expected to be the HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR SO FAR IN GERMANY TODAY.

Just brings back memories of how badly we wilted against Brazil and Paraguay.

I agree its always a problem when England have a ready made excuse. If they were to finish the game b4 half time like they should of against t&T, sweden and Paraguay, then it would be easier for them but come on, this is Svens England!

Like the formation, think it could work!!

i think if we play like we have done in the previous games, Ecuador could give us a shock. ive watched most of their games and their no fools, so hoepfully we can raise our game, even with that formation! and get through comfortably!

Which we did...albeit with a few "shakes" along the way. Very impressed by our "short passing" game at times during the first half. Rooney did look isolated, and Hargreaves looked a decent player at last. Joe Cole had a totally different game to the last time out.

For me Ashley Cole was much improved and MoM and Lennon was the great sub we thought he could be.

I missed something there!

For me I'd have pulled him off for the genuine right back Carragher. And as for Beckham playing long high balls in for Rooney, I always thought Rooney played with his feet. Had Sven been courageous enough he could have put Lennon on for Beckham much sooner and we'd have had a hatful played in from down the right flank.

Still what do I know, Beck's scored the winner and were through to the last 8.

YINGERLUYOND!!!

Did we win? Are we in the last eight? Just a question.
