Zidane....a disgrace!

Postby Shoreham kid » Sun Jul 09 2006, 21:44

I just can't believe it, i really can't....
His career will be remebered 4 that rather than the unbelievable, classy football he has produced week in, week out 4 the last 15years!

He has disgraced the game we all love, in front of 1billion people watching worldwide.... just unbelievable!!

Yeah, so his nipple was twisted, and its supposed 2 be a sexually connotated offence in arabic terms, which is Zidane's roots, havin come from Algeria. But, what is he thinking!

It weren't just heat of the moment because he had a few moments 2 think about it, he walked away then turned and attacked him. Its thuggery, if i done that in the street, i'd be up 4 a jail term!

This is a moment of shame that will be up there and shown, proberly more times than Maradona's own moment of shame!!!

I'm just shocked!

I'd love to know what Materazzi said to him.

apparantly he nipple crippled him, which is an african sexual advance! and zizou was born in algeria so its obviously upset him enough to make him lose it!

I do feel a bit sorry for Zizou, something was obviously said to him which warented a head butt in the chest, must have been something pretty awful for him to have done it knowing he would probably get sent off.

I don't think its too bad, remeber Cantona & that Palace fan? We all love that now and Cantona is still remembered for his brilliant football!

Lets face it, who wouldn't love to headbutt a smug italian in the ribs! Plus he gets no ban as he's retired!

All the greats have that dark side to them, they are either genius or mad men.

Although i am shocked by ZZ headbutt, i still believe he is the greatest player that has played the game in this era and it was a pleasure to have watched him in action. Both for club and country.

Yes, he was fantastic to watch for the whole tournament!!

Apparently they vote at half time, so obviously the headbutt wasn't taken into account!!! Regardless of the headbutt, I don't think Zidane had a great tournament (apart from the Brazil game)

I thought Cannavaro was the best player, but defenders/goalkeepers rarely get the rewards.

Agreed, thought he was class the whole way throught the World Cup.

Reagrding ZZ, I for one will remember him for the brilliance he showed on the pitch, he's certainly been the best player I can remember of his generation, since Marradonna.

Now he's gone, who's gonna step up and take the mantle. Rooney, Ronaldhinio ??

Cannavaro and Gattuso have been brilliant for the Italians. They were an ordinary side that defended brilliantly and won them the world cup. My vote would have been Cannavaro closely followed by Metselder. It was a world cup where defenders shined more than attacking players . Zidane was awful in the group stages but came alive in the knock out stages especially against Brazil. There were flashes last night but I dont think he deserved player of the tournament. His penalty was sheer brilliance, hope Crouchy was watching. Milevski (in the Ukraine v Swiss shoot-out) and Zidanes were very similar, but to execute a penalty like that on the biggest stage was class. But as Otters says in a genius there is always a mad man and we saw both sides of Zidane last night. I dont blame him for France losing I blame Trezeguet because he missed and has got a stupid, pathetic goaty beard, he deserves to lose if he thinks that is fashionable.
