Leatherhead 0 Crawley Down 1

An away win for Crawley Down but a game that never really got going. The home side set up very defensively with a 4-5-1 formation and the first 15 minutes was quite dull. The Anvils started to penetrate the home defence and created a few opportunities with Matt Burroughs having the best chance. The goal came on 30 minutes and was an excellent finish. A cross from Dave Juniper found Grant Rigler and he superbly fired a right foot volley into the corner of the net.

The second half saw Leatherhead a little more adventurous but there was no real threat on the Anvils goal. An excellent playing surface at Leatherhead and therefore it was a pity better football was not played on it.

CDFC Team : Bos, Juniper, Granger, Major D, Neville, Johnston, Burroughs, Cane, Rigler, Major S and Belli.
Subs Used : Fielding, Goodwin and Caiger.

Well done Phil, the reserves by the look of the table are looking good for a top three or higher finish, whats it like playing on a good surface?

Two points :- Three on the bench, we could only find one plus a couple of backroom staff on Saturday, also the reserves have the same number of points as the first team but in half the number of games, thereby hangs a tale as they say.

We are very fortunate that in the Prem B we play on some excellent playing surfaces namely Leatherhead, Met Police, Cor. Casuals and Uxbridge. Anyway back to reality this Saturday with a home game at the Haven.
