Crawley Down 3 Metropolitan Police 1

A fantastic double achieved over the Met this season and a well deseved victory today. However it was the visitors who took the lead on 20 minutes when a quick counter attack and good finish saw the first goal of the day. The anvils drew level when Michael Belli was brought down in the box and a penalty was awarded. Steve Major made no mistake from the spot and from then on Crawley Down slowly started to dominate the game. The Anvils took the lead on 60 minutes when a tremendous swerving strike from Michael Belli gave the keeper no chance. The game was won on 70 minutes when a free kick from Dave Major found Sam Cane unmarked and he confidently headed the ball past the keeper. The back four were excellent today and a special mention to Lee Granger who was very good.

A good competitive game and some decent football on a heavy pitch.

Team : Bos, Juniper, Granger, Buckingham, Neville, Johnston, Major D, Cane, Rigler, Major s and Belli.
Sub Used : Burroughs
Subs Not Used : Caiger, Goodwin, Upton and Fielding.

I managed to watch the second half of this game and i thought that CD looked a very good side. They always seemed in control and could have and probably should have scored a couple more.

Great result lads. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for those comments Total Football. We are very lucky at the moment that we have around 30 players covering the Reserves and Thirds that train hard and are all willing to put a shift in on a Saturday. Some good team spirit and banta around the Haven at the moment.
