WSFL Div 2 North:

West Sussex Premier Division.
Billingshurst 4 - 2 West Chiltington.

A good competitive game graced with two excellent goals, penalties given and not given meant for a good afternoon's entertainment at Jubilee Fields.
Chilt went in front early on with a penalty converted by Pulling. Hurst levelled soon after when Darren Annis headed home from a Jamie Groves free kick. They went in front when Ollie Lambkin drilled in a 25 yard free kick only to be pegged back just before the break when Gary Wheedon hit an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area the nestled in the top corner.
Hurst dominated in the second half and deservedly took the lead when Nick Tilley beat the keeper at his near post and the points were wrapped up when Ash Lewis hit one of his trade mark long range shots that flew into the same top corner of Wheedons earlier strike.

East Dean 2-0 Hunston Res.

The home side ran out eventual winners in a 6 pointer at The Gasson yesterday. The first half was pretty quiet and non eventful except for a 'hopeful' penalty shout for the home side, and to be fair Hunston probably had the edge in the first 45mins. 0-0 @ HT.

East Dean began to play a bit more in the 2nd half and began to get on top creating a few chances that Hunston's young keeper dealt with very impressively (considering he was only 16 years old!!!). The deadlock was broken by a great individual goal from Paul Cooper who hit an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area. Aaron Freeman then later wrapped up all 3points for the home team with a delicate chip from the edge of the area that found the roof of the net. Credit must also to go to the EDFC defence and gk who dealt with everything thrown at them all afternoon to ensure they kept a rare clean sheet. =D>

Are you suggesting already that wittering should be playing county football.. Its a bit of change in standard between wsfl 2 to going 3 leagues up in county 3. They half had a hell of a season over witterings but i think you will see the difference when they get promoted. It ok competing with a higher club for an odd week because everyone is up for it but can they do it consistantly every week?

Good county players dont want to be walking 200 yards to get onto the pitch, or have one side of the pitch roped off and going 50yards to get the ball everytime the ball goes out. Maybe ground gradings arent such a bad idea.

most matches at wittering tend to last not 90mins but between 120 and 140mins, once the ball has been fetched back and as you say the time it takes to get from changing rooms to pitch!!!

In the winter months because of the drag in games they could do with floodlights

stop start!
