From someone who should know but isn't 100% sure, only ever be sure when they run out and play wearing your shirt.
Ollie is at East Preston and may well be on the bench for tomorrow afternoon. As when last seen he was talking to the 2 managers on Tuesday after training.
And having followed his progress from a 8 year old at Rustington Otters. I can only add that given the opportunity he has the potential should he want it bad enough. Could be one for the future.
Slightly biased, but always honest!! ( These are my views not those of EPFC). Les Chapman

Com'on Rusty you have got to give me the right to reply.

Heard the news on Sat in the curry house like you do - who do you think I bumped into slightly worse for wear. On reflection I was either v lucky or have a huge crystal ball.

Good result on Sat unlike ourselves the wheels came off after a great start to the season.

Lash - I know who you are now like yourself I've known Ollie a long time personally I think he is ready now.

I didn't name you but I will now.

Good to catch up on Sat.

L&S are quite a handful our 1st team played them last year.

Couldnt believe the scoreline when I saw it. EP are a young side with a lot of good players and I thought when we played them their league position was a little false. Must have had someone sent off or a injury list as long as ours!

Just a bad day in the office, as pointed out, a young side that needs to learn consistency. It's sad to see our 2's get spanked but they are definitely learning from the front row. On their day they are as good as most, but thats where the consistency needs to show more steel. They are a very good side and they will get better. Wiley old 'Sompting based' teams like L&S will always be difficult.

Jon,

As for Ollie being 'ready now'

I do have a lot of time for Ollie as a player and I think he has the potential to be a good player but this year he has just failed to deliver for us and has struggled to come up to the required standard of County 3 football, he asked to leave as he wanted to play regular football week in week out then goes and sits on the bench for EP first team (Had to admit that surprised me) obviously I respect his wishes but felt he was more frustrated with himself more than anything, hopefully a fresh start can get him back on track again.

P.S Doesn't look like we will see him in the Vernon Wentworth Cup now though

Bit harsh to use the term "failed" but thats your opinion - will have to wait and see just how good he all he needs is a run of games 1st or Res.

Ollie com'on let your footie do the talking.

O & O.

I'd have thought it good practice to use players that sign on, on the Saturday morning of a game to get used as a sub for the front team. Trev obviously had his side picked and it's good for the new player to sit on the bench and get a feel for the club. Just so happens Brownie busted his nose and Matty got injured so Ollie got his chance on his first outing. Wouldn't seriously read anything into EP team selection for one game.
