Postby fanbase » Sun Dec 23 2018, 11:00

Haywards Heath Town played Horsham in a Bostik League South East Division game. The Heath had previously beaten Horsham in the league at Lancing and went into this game on a 8 game unbeaten run. Horsham came into the game having beaten league leaders Cray last week. The first half was very even and it was in the first 5 minutes of the second half that the game to come to life. On 47 minutes Karly Akehurst headed home the opening goal. Two minutes later Horsham defender Joe Shelley received his second yellow card. The Heath took advantage of the extra man and on 68 minutes were awarded a penalty that Callum Saunders converted. The Heath are now level on points with Hastings United and Horsham in joint third place.
