Wedding rings?

Postby kay weller » Sat Feb 09 2013, 23:20

Ok we all know as players that wedding rings are not allowed,

The question is = who is responsible, the player or the ref ?

This rule cost us two points today, but when questioned nobody really knew the answer!

Is it up to the ref? and does he check before hand? if he spot's mid play does the ref stop play or allow play to continue with 9 players whilst 2 players remove their rings?

Only real refs please reply, Sorry but Greenrass who ever has peedmeoff!! :)

Firstly, this is not a new law so all the players should know that jewelry is not allowed and is their responsibility not to wear it, the officials should then check prior to entering the field of play, however if it hasn't been spotted the referee has every right to request that the player(s) leaves the field of play and remove it.

So in answer to your question, the players in question cost you your points.

From the FA confirming that below County 3. County 3 and above rings must be removed. No confusion letter won't do you any good.

So have I got this right? They can't wear rings in County Three and above but can in the leagues below? Was this law brought in as an H&S issue? Are the players below County Three just tougher and can take 'wedding ring' knocks? Sounds a bit strange to me.
