Offside?

I know we've had this before but someone settle a debate please. People have agreed you'd know.

Its the last minute. All players are in one half for a corner.

The ball is cleared. The number 9 moves into the opposing half and the opposing number 5 goes with him. The 5 - defending - stays goal side as the 9 receives the ball.

They are the only two players in that half.

Offside?

As long as the number 9 was in his own half when the ball was cleared then there is no offside offence.

Doesn't matter where he received the ball as long as he was in his own half when it was cleared.

Also depends on the Goalkeeper. If the Keeper has gone up leaving the No 5 and Number 9 as the only players in that half then Offside as there has to be two defending players to play you onside but as Whatever says if he was in his own half when the ball was kicked then he's onside regardless.

As you say, where the keeper is, is irrelevant. As is where the player is when the ball is received.

I do see that but it wasn't very clear where they were when the ball was played It also does not matter if the defenders goes with him or not, if he is in his own half when the ball is played he is onside regardles of where any defenders are.
