Thought he had a good chance of the final, if we didn't make it.

Be on the plane home today I would have thought !!

Shame, I actually quite like the guy

I watched the whole game and had a careful eye on Mr Poll.

Well, didnt he make a total tit of himself!!

He started OK, and yes the Croatians were disgraceful with their tactics, but he totally then ran up his own arse in self importance.

Basically, if anyone said a word at him they were booked and to then give the guy 3 yellows - what a plank!!

It was so funny when he gave the guy the 2nd yellow card and he started to walk but then you see one of his team mates calling out to him to turn round cos he hadn't been shown the red card.

If Croatia had scored it would have been hideous! What surprises me is that none of the Aussies realised OR HIS 2 BLEEDIN LINEMEN!!!

Still at least the ref over shadowed the Aussie keeper for his nightmare save for Croatia's 2nd. Scharwzers face on the bench was a picture!!

add to that a 4th official who is in constant communication with the official!

What i found weird is 90% of the aussies play in the premiership, and they get a premiership referee to officiate!

Did anyone else hear Tim Cahill swear at the top of his voice to the lino and get away with it? the microphone caught it superbly!!!

Graham Poll ?

Postby LittlehampDon » Fri Jun 23 2006, 08:35

I used to see him quite a lot and always thought he was one of our better refs.

What is the point of them being all miked up etc if the 'assistants' didn't tell him something was wrong.

Still he can't be that bad - I had £3 on 2-2 result (and he missed that second hand ball)

Apparently Viduka asked Poll if it was the players second yellow and was told that it was only his first. I feel sorry for him because now everyone thinks he's a twat!

Maybe he thought he was reffing Man Utd and was just trying to keep Fergusson happy

Graham Poll is a knob full of self importance. I was listening to Ian Wright on the Chris Moyles show this morning and he said before the game Graham Poll said to John Motson's Co-Comentator that if Motty wanted a piece of trivia on him say his wife and daughter are in the crowd watching him. Ive never liked him anyway. Good refs should never be talked about. Ive yet to see a ref in the same league as Collina. Surely they must allow him some sought of role with in Fifa to train these refs.

I agree Collina was different class. I have just finished reading his auto biography and it was an excellent read.

Poll basically tried his best to ruin which for me has been the best match of the tournament so far. He just would not let anyone say a word to him during the game without booking them.

So funny reading some of his ore tournament quotes in the paper that have bit him in the backside big time!!
