hunstoncc1 v2 lavant..hunston .lost 3 players to injuriy and work this week. but cant blame the result on that
lavant worked there socks off for each other and allthough in the end a draw would have been a fair result
after a good last 35 mins by hunston, lavant deserved there reward. 0 v 2 half time

Watersfield 1-4 Lancing United

More even than the score line suggests. Very slow start and bad decision making in the defensive third from Watersfield allowed the visitors to take a 2 goal advantage inside the opening 10 mins. Watersfield slowly came into the game as the half progressed and broke Lancing down on a number of occasions. Ben Richardson scoring for Watersfield before dwelling on the ball and missing an absolute sitter making the score 2-1 at half time.

Watersfield started the half slowly again allowing Lancing to get on top. Watersfield came back into the game again and over the half missed three more very clear cut chances including a one-on-one and a free header inside three yards. Lancing score from a clear penalty then another good finish from a break away to leave the score at 4-1 to finish.

The story of the game for me was Lancing score 4 out of 5 chances, Watersfield score 1 out of 5. Lancing's best player of the day was the number 8 in center midfield. Seemed tidy on the ball and worked hard throughout continually asking questions of Watersfield when he was in possession.

Some very interesting refereeing but nothing worth dwelling on as both teams came victim some some odd decisions including over ruling the linesman for some obvious throw-in and goal kick/corner decision. Was quite amusing in the end and just had to smile and move on.

Best of luck to Lancing for the rest of the season, hopefully we can reverse some of our scoreline's soon.

Fair assessment Jack.

Keep going as your luck will change soon, especially if you keep Rico and the No 9 up top as they were very lively.

For me, you just lack a left full back and a couple of decent central midfielders to be a decent side. All of our goals came from getting in behind your left hand side and our forward had a good day scoring a decent hat trick.

Must say, the ref did make some amusing decisions but as you rightly say, he was pretty equal (as bad for both teams!). Also got to give you boys some credit for the pitch. Excellent surface after all this rain and still firm enough for moulded boots which surprised me.

As for our No 8, cracking player who is new to us this season. Amazing what 3 or 4 new signings and a bit of belief can do for a team. Certainly our worsrt performance over the past 5 weeks but to only play in patches and still win 4-1 away from home to make it 5 in 5 is something I didn't think I would ever be saying after our opening day 2-7 spanking v Hunston!

Good luck for the rest of the season mate.
