Worthing League vs Sunday & Horsham Sunday League

Postby themarkybizzle » Wed Nov 16 2011, 09:20

Last night was the first game for the Sunday League rep side for a long while. Managed by Andy Baumfield from Ajax LA he had a whole host of names to chose from...

Squad was:-

Matt Paice

Dom Di Paulo
Ross McKay
Niall O'Hagan
Olly Davies

Ryan Loversidge
Jerry Manning
Liam Humphries
Duncan Barnes or Simon Clarke (can't remember)

George Gaskin
Lee Garnham

Subs:
Den Williams
Matt Harris
Duncan Barnes / Simon Clarke

The Sunday rep side ran out 4-1 winners with a goal from Gaskin, a brace from Garnham and the other I am not sure.

Aparently a very entertaining game - I am sure Macca can tell us who played for the Worthing League team and any other details I missed.

Worthing and Horsham Team were as follows:

1. Dan Rapps
2. Rob O' Neal
3. Harry Cranford
4. Gavin Hammond (capt)
5. Scott Vine
6. Tom Donnelley
7. Tony Castro
8. Jon Axworthy
9. Sean Russell
10. Jordan Rhodes
11. Lewis Crathern
12. Matt Carter
13. Dave Edwards

Lewis Crathern with the solo goal for the Saturday league side

Markyb was right a really entertaining game in the end, Worthing and Horsham had (as expected) the extra quality in Gaskin, Garnham on the night which showed.
The Worthing League were let down by 3 players on the day and 1 not even turning up therefore this did hamper selections and leaving 2 players playing out of position. Its a shame players get selected and dont even turn up without a call or anything.....

However take nothing away from the Worthing & Horsham Sunday league they would have still won IMO.

We wish them the best of luck for the upcoming games and also a big thank-you to Littlehampton FC for putting on the venue and refreshments.
