What happened to forums?

In the early days of the internet, forums were the go-to place for online discussions. However, with the rise of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit, participation in traditional forums has drastically declined. These social platforms offer a more user-friendly, interactive, and visually appealing environment that forums often lack. While some niche forums still exist, they are largely overshadowed by these social giants. It's a real nostalgia trip remembering when forums were our main source of online interaction.
