As reporter for Crawley Down Gatwick FC, the copy of which in turn gets sent to not only the clubs website, but also the local papers in Crawley and East Grinstead, the former always giving us a good spread.
I write this after being slightly 'peeved' by the interpretation by the Crawley paper, whose opening para of the match was written thus - ''CDG were comfortably beaten in their top of the table clash away to Haywards Heath''.
That opening para being a complete nonsense as to what was originally written and sent in by self, as anyone who witnessed the match would have seen, a close encounter of the gripping kind, which with a missed penalty ( or more like a superb save ) plus a dubious 4th goal, thus would have made it even closer.
I write this, personal pride i suppose, just in case any of our players / supporters may have read this and thought ''what match was he watching'' ( tho probably not for the first time ), guaranteed we're having a difficult run at the moment, but you press boys lets get the true facts as sent and not make it up along the way!
Whinge over now as we welcome Oakwood FC to the Haven tomorrow in another no doubt, ''encounter of the gripping kind ''.
