Crawley Town Div 1

Postby Mike May » Wed May 09 2012, 22:01

Well done to Crawley Town on another outstanding season culminating as we all know in promotion into Div 1, at this rate they will be bypassing near neighbours Brighton.

The real test now comes as to who fills the 'big boots' left by Steve Evans who was the main instigator in their rapid rise thro the divisions, a person with a somewhat colourful background but had the knack and know how of getting the best out of his teams, still can't understand why he left in a move that was sideways rather than upward and of course the timing, tho domestic reasons plus the controversal selling of his twin strikeforce probably helped to sway matters, whoever takes over however will have a hard act to follow, love him or loathe him he was certainly a colourful character and warmed many a seat in the stand during his reign.

Your not getting 'cold feet' are you Geoff, theres no stopping the 'Red Devils' on their march!

They could become the new number one in Sussex!

I just can't avoid the odd 'wind up'! By the way are you following me?

Now the new manager has been announced and the backroom sorted, all thats required now is the squad to be strengthened, as one should realise this will be a real tough season ahead and yet again that 'C' word will be the number one priority, as Sean O'Driscoll has stated 'we are the smallest club in League 1 by a million miles' so it want be easy.

Lets hope the clubs supporters have the 'nous' to realise this and don't start to complain, patience will be the byword once the season kicks off!

Oh dear, with the season just under a month away the manager of just two months has decided to call it a day and walk away to possible richer pastures, one of course can't stand in the way of improving ones lot especially a big club such as Forest, but it does seem a shame that the club who gave him a chance back into the game and thereby looked forward to his experience and connections inside the game to guide the club in their quest to hopefully consolide their new found status in the Football League But as they say money will always talk!.
