Ronnie Rubidge latched onto a Danny Payne through-ball midway through the first half put BNE 1-0 up. Southern Rangers equalized in the second half and looked to have salvaged a draw, but Chris MacAuley sealed the points for BNE with a penalty after Ben Wingfield was tripped in the box with ten minutes to go.
