Rotherfield FC 2015/16

Postby rfc1893 » Sun May 24 2015, 20:11

From the end of the 2014/15 season, plans have been put in place to prepare for the following season and beyond!

Rotherfield Football Club is investing heavily into our facilities and playing surfaces in order to continue to offer the best in footballing amenities, to be an attractive prospect for new players to play football.

This will include refurbishment in the Clubhouse including rejuvenating the bar area, upgrading the current changing facilities and enhancing our playing surfaces by ameliorating the drainage system installed ten years ago.

These improvements will not only provide a better base for our Club but will also prepare the Club to become an ‘FA Step 7’ Club.
We have a management team with great credentials including our First Team manager and head coach Peter Ford who has just completed his 19th season as manager and is passionate about the forthcoming challenge:

“I am really excited about my forthcoming 20th season! A lot of hard work has gone in to making football to as high a standard as possible, but the commitment shown by many people and players to help with pitch set up & cleaning up afterwards at Rotherfield is second to none. Also the initiatives followed this year conceived by the players have added to the team spirit that is so vital in any club side.

"My football teams are based upon a strong defensive set up to ensure we stay in games for as long as possible & the defences we have been able to field this season have been excellent. We currently have the best group of players that this club has ever had. It should definitely be good enough for the second team to push on from the fantastic run at the end of this season to get promotion as well as ensuring progress for the first team.

"To achieve these aims will of course require good availability & for players to attend training regularly. This, I believe, will bring success however you define it!. A few careful additions to the squad of new players or existing players lifting their performance level significantly through hard work just could allow greater progress. How far that progress takes us is then down to all the players. I want us all to give it everything to make my 20th anniversary as manager the best season in the clubs history.”

The Teams
Our Club runs three adult teams. All teams compete in the Gray Hooper Halt LLP Mid-Sussex Football League.

Our Club’s 1st and 2nd teams form the First Team Squad and 3rd Team is a development squad with the aim of giving youth players their first taste of adult football and eventually encouraging players to move up into the other squads.

Pre-season training will begin for all players on Monday 6th July 2015 at 7pm and will be twice a week at Rotherfield Recreation Ground, with the following session on Wednesday 8th July at 7pm and will continue on the same days thereafter.

During the season, training will then continue, weather permitting, under flood lights at the ground until the club switches to indoor training. If you like the sound of being a part of a progressive football club for the 2015/16 season and would like to find out more, then contact our First Team manager Peter Ford on 07714 837 297 so we can find out a bit more about you.
