5-a side/ 6-a side pitches near Gatwick airport

Postby seafordcrownfc.co.uk » Fri May 04 2007, 08:07

Hello All,

I was wondering if anybody knew of any 5 a side or 6 a side indoor or outdoor (preferably indoor) football pitches near Gatwick ? Google has let me down. Me and some work colleague's used to play at the SoccaBox (6 a side Tiger Turf) in Crawley but the company has gone into liquidation.

Yesterday we tried the Broadfield all weather pitch which is just at the side of the stadium, but this was a wee bit too big for our numbers and people were complaining about getting their knees ripped open.

Can anyone offer some advice ? Is there anywhere in Horley, Three Bridges or elsewhere in Crawley ? We looked at the K2 outdoor astro turf pitches and deemed them unsuitable.

Thanks.

Ifield Community College, off J10 on the M23.

Not sure how good it is but a lot of my work colleagues play there.

Cheers Skinny, any ideas how to book it and is it indoor and ideal for 5 a side ?

It's outdoor mate, decent size for 5-a-side but the info I'm relaying is 2nd hand!!

Direct quote from a bloke at work that uses it:

You might get passed have a small trail of numbers before you actually get to book it, and you’ll probably speak to a bird called Gemma who sounds really foxy.
"

You can try and decode it

yeh ifield is astroturf. The only 3G surface is Crawleys training pich, but there isn't 5 a side there yet, so i'm told?

K2 is awful for injuries etc, i used to play sundays.

K2 crap - easy injuries and £40 odd a session apparently?!

SoccaBox was good till it went into trouble . . .

But yeh Ifield College/School whatever - nice pitch for 5-a-side!!
My views are of Tom Fry and not of Three Bridges Football Club

Tye you should ask Kevin Laundon as he is a PE teacher at ICC. He will give you the low down on this Gemma.

On the subject of 5 a-side try Handcross Park School (The private one), they have a really big gym, its great for indoor footy.

its only a game

Wow, makes the planned Billingshurst Summer Seven a side Football League sound cheap

18 Minutes each way & £18 per team, however it is on grass.

Anyone else interested its on Tuesday evenings at Billingshurst's Jubilee Fields.
Pre-season is about bullshi!tters, backstabbers and finding out who you can trust!

A new facility in Bognor Regis, with 4 indoor 3G pitches opens up next month
Look at www.ford-indoor-football-arena.com or www.dream5.co.uk
